A friend recommended a great plugin called MT-Blacklist, which looks at the comments' content, and blocks or allows posts based on the content (instead of the ip address). It seems to work well, and comes preconfigured. Yippee! Post away. http://www.jayallen.org/projects/mt-blacklist/ Jim

Our Little Talker

Mekiah has been talking a lot lately. He says a new word every day it seems. One of the cutest things that he has been saying lately is, " Where Mama?". He says this when he cannot find me in our apartment. He will walk around saying,"Where Mama?' and then calling, "Mama". I will answer with, "Mama's in the kitchen" (or where ever I may be) and Mekiah will answer with "What?". "Mama's in the kitchen." "What?" and so on....... It is very cute! Along with that, Mekiah can also say juice (duce), thank you, water (wa-dee), up, Yum yum (Num num), Truck, Baby (Be-be). He signs airplane whenever he hears one and then he waves bye-bye to it when he sees it. He also signs the word 'more'.

Jim's mother recently moved in with us and Mekiah has come to call her Ee-ee. He has said "Gamma" but usually calls her Ee-ee.

Mekiah is a great runner and a great climber and is always on the go. He is all boy and recently has been getting into playing with trucks. He does like his little baby doll though and he gives it kisses and gets it's face very slobbery. Mekiah love to watch Sesame Street in the mornings and knows when it should be coming on.

I just love being a mommy! Mekiah is such a joy and he make me smile all the time.

Saying a few words

Mekiah is now learning to say a few words. He can say: mama, dada, up, hot, cheese (pronounced 'chshhhh'), cracker (pronounced 'ka-ka'), drink (prounounced 'dink'), water (pronouced 'wa-wa'), bye bye (pronouced 'ba-byeee'), and seeyoulater (pronounced 'eee-oooo-ay-ah'). He can also blow you kisses 🙂

Our Toddler

I guess Mekiah is now considered a toddler. He is walking everywhere and is beginning to climb. He has learned a few more signs such as milk and please. We are also finding out that Mekiah is not all sweetness. He has thrown several little tantrums and is certainly getting a mind of his own. The last few days have been very sunny and warm and Mekiah loves to go outside on our patio or out to walk on the sidewalk. (He hates the grass though. Too icky feeling I guess) DCP_4065 crop.jpg

Mekiah’s Tricks

Here is a list of all the new "tricks" Mekiah can do. He is a very smart boy!
  • Shake his head "No"
  • Play Peek-a-boo
  • Click his tongue
  • Do the sign for "cold" (he thinks this one is very funny and he will do it to make you laugh)
  • Clap
  • Wave bye-bye
  • Bang his head on the command of "Boing"
  • Find his ball when we sign "ball" to him. (We do not have to say the word "ball" at all.
  • He can do an indian noise with his hand on and off his mouth.
  • He can say "Hot" when prompted. (This is his favorite word and he says it all the time)
  • Says "Up"
  • Crawling with his head on the floor. (he just started doing this one and it is quite funny)
